Seashell Brooches, Pendants and Hair Combs
These cheerful oversized brooches add je ne sais quoi to your look — pin one on to accentuate a scarf or add a bold signature piece.
About the shells: These rare shells, some a century old, are curated from Christa’s travels and estate shell collections. Some of the shells are so rare they would sell for the same price as the entire piece. Since these shells are not drilled, they retain their value.
What to Know About Our Pendants & Brooches
Q1: Can these brooches also be worn as necklace pendants?
-
A: Many of our brooches feature a hidden bail on the back, allowing you to easily slide them onto a chain and wear them as a statement pendant.
Q2: What is the safest way to pin these to delicate fabrics?
- A: We use high-quality, sharp pins to minimize fabric pull. For very delicate silks, we recommend pinning through a structural part of the garment like a lapel or waistband.
Q3: Are the corals and shells on the pins securely attached?
-
A: Each natural element is meticulously set using jewelry-grade techniques, ensuring the organic materials stay firmly in place for years to come.
Q4: Are these pins inspired by historical jewelry designs?
- Yes, many of Christa’s brooches are inspired by 18th and 19th-century "Natural History" motifs, reimagined for the modern collector.
